Founded on March 8, 1911, the school has undergone several name changes due to historical changes and societal developments, and it finally became "Chenggong Elementary School" in 1968. The name "Chenggong" symbolizes not only aspirations for student achievement but also the school's commitment to excellent education.
Chenggong Elementary School is situated in Tainan’s West Central District, rich in historical and cultural heritage. Over nearly a century, the school has nurtured countless outstanding students. Its educational philosophy emphasizes holistic development, focusing on moral, intellectual, physical, social, and aesthetic growth, providing a comprehensive and diverse learning environment.
Regarding facilities, Chenggong Elementary has preserved many historically significant buildings. As it approaches its 112th anniversary, the school, located next to Chihkan Tower, has witnessed the progress and prosperity of Tainan. However, due to aging infrastructure, renovations are necessary to meet modern educational demands and to adapt for the next century. Currently, the school is located at another facility and looks forward to its new campus next year, anticipating a significant transformation. Hopefully, through more curriculum reform and innovation, the school enables to help every student excel academically, artistically, and in sports, building a strong foundation for their futures and contributing to Tainan’s educational development.
